need a tissue???

Last month Seth asked Kimmie to please go get a tissue for baby brother. She went into the bathroom and returned with half a sheet of toilet paper, perfect! Well, that is until Seth walked by the bathroom and saw this.....

What a funny girl:) What makes this even funnier to me is she only gave Seth half a square of toilet paper. She cracks me up! We have a lot of funny Kimmie stories we could tell, but I want to share a couple right now.

One morning while Kimmie & I were snuggling in bed she said "Mommy, you're 52!" I instantly said NO I'M NOT (nothing against any readers who are 52, I am sure it's a great age, but I won't know for a while!) I then asked her how old she was and she said "three" I corrected her and said No, you are 2". She then corrected me by saying "No momma, two is over, I am three!" Apparently two is over, who knew:)

A couple days ago Kimmie was playing with Oma (Seth's mom) and asked to color. Kathy got her the dry erase markers she always uses and Kimmie said "No, not those" So Kathy asked which colors she wanted and Kimmie wanted different markers. Kathy told Kimmie she didn't know where those markers were and Kimmie said "I think you're lying!" Kathy reassured her that she was not lying, but Kimmie kept insisting she was:)

Where does she learn these things:)

David is 10 months old going to 2! Today he climbed up the stairs and he cruises everywhere. He is so good at standing and loves walking along the furniture. He is such a happy little boy. Always smiling, but always getting into something!

Easter in Utah

We were lucky (or unlucky if you don't like the snow) to go spend Easter in Utah with my family. My mom and Tom flew out from Michigan and met us there. They stayed at Tina and Scott's new house (and Nicky's). We stayed with our friends Ang & Ross (and their daughter Daisy). It was so nice to spend time with family and friends. It is always a little chaotic while we are there, but I always miss it when I am gone. I of course have a ton of pictures and Nicky also gave me a bunch of her pictures, but I will just post some from my camera for now. Kimmie LOVES having other kids to play with and she had such a great time playing. David was a little jealous of all the kids running around and has decided he wants to stand all the time and even attempt to step on his own. It always ends in him falling, but he still tries. It was a great trip and I can't wait to get together with everyone again soon!
There aren't a lot of pictures of my family, mostly just the kids, sorry family!

We celebrated Angie's birthday while we were there. She is in dental hygiene school so I was trying to do something clever and Tina came up with the "Happy birthday tooth you" idea and we went with it. I am happy with how it turned out!

9 months old (sorry, no pictures this time)

David turned 9 months old on March 19th (I know, I know, this post is a little late) Things have been a little busy around here and we are getting ready to fly to Utah in the morning, so I just wanted to quickly post David's 9 month stats before we leave. Here are his measurements:
Weight: 22 pounds 14.5 ounces
Height: 30 inches
Head Circumference: 47.5 inches
He is a strong, healthy, BIG boy! He is the 80th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. He is getting around and into everything. He still does the army crawl, but can get himself up onto all fours and will crawl for a few steps, then gets down and army crawls the rest of the way. He can also get up to sitting by himself and pulls himself up to standing. It won't be long before he takes off running:) He is growing and developing right on track. He has the cutest little laugh, but we call him our serious boy. He always has a serious look on his face!
Well, I better get packing. I am sure we will have lots to post after this weekend. Happy Easter everyone!!!!

spaghetti dinner

So David is a GREAT eater, he will eat anything and everything (even receipts...yes, he ate a receipt!) Last night I made spaghetti and decided to let him feed himself. I remember doing this with Kimmie and it was such a fun night. She was almost a year old when we did it, so he is a little ahead. I just couldn't stop taking pictures, he LOVES the camera!!!
taking it slow at the start
can't stop him now
chew, chew, chew
I love that little face!!
Mr. Giggles:)
Ok, so I know Kimmie and David look a lot alike, but I didn't realize how much!! I found a couple pictures from when I let Kimmie feed herself spaghetti and thought I would post those so you can see for yourself how much they look alike - remember that Kimmie was 1 at the time, and David is only 9 months, but it bigger than her:)

you spin me right round baby

Ok, so maybe that is a little cruel of us, but he LOVES to spin around, and we had to capture it on video. If you didn't catch it the first time, watch his eyes when Nathan stops spinning him, so funny:)
Other than torturing our children, we have been very busy. David got his cast off on March 9th. They said everything looks great and he is getting around quickly without it. At first you could tell it was strange to him, but now you can't even tell he ever had a cast on. His arm was pretty smelly after they took it off, so we gave him and Kimmie a bath. They loved being in there together. David loves to splash, which was a lot of fun for Kimmie too.
Finals are this week for me and Seth. I don't know why, but this term has been extra hard. Seth will graduate in December, which is such a great feeling! And as of right now I am on track to graduate in December 2011. Trying to do school with two little ones is not always easy, but I know it will be worth it.
Well, that should catch everyone up on what we have been doing. And as always here are a bunch of pictures.....

Ok, this is probably my FAVORITE picture of David. He just looks so adorable!!!

Kimmie's hair is getting so long (and I just gave her another haircut before this picture)

playing together

She hasn't used a binky since she was 2 months old, but loves to put baby brother's binkys in her mouth, two at a time!

Another great picture of David, I love his little grin

Kimmie wanted BOTH of them to wear their Mickey ears from Disney World. David doesn't look happy in this picture, but I promise he didn't mind that much:)

bath after getting David's cast off

he tries to stand up all the time. We helped him get up to standing, but he does a great job on his own to stay up

a nursing cover and matching diaper wipe case that I made for a friend from church. I love how these turned out and they were super easy (and cheap)

another year older, another year wiser???

Saturday, February 20th, was my 28th birthday. We started the day by going to lunch at Pine State Biscuits. It was SO GOOD!!!!! I forgot to take a picture of my lunch, but this is what Scott got (we got the same thing except mine did not have an egg on it) It was fried chicken, cheese, bacon, and homemade gravy all on a homemade buttermilk biscuit. Oh, I am hungry just thinking about it, I can't wait to go back!
After Pine State we headed over to Otto's to get some lunch meat. Seth and I love watching Diners Drive-ins & Dives and both these places were featured on that show, which is why we wanted to check them out. Of course Otto's was delicious too! Then it was time to take the kids home for a nap. While they were napping I decided it was time to redo the lamp in Kimmie's room. I bought it used at Goodwill last June. It wasn't too ugly, but just wasn't what I wanted, but the price was right. I went to Joanne Fabrics and bought some super cute Micky fabric and......

before

AFTER!!!!

I was worried the dangly Mickey's would look too "mexican" (I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that) but I thought they were too cute to pass up:)
After nap time we took the kids for a walk. The weather has been beautiful lately. After our walk we headed to Chili's for dinner (they shut down the one by us over a year ago and the closest one is 20 minutes away so we never go) The kids were great on the drive to dinner, but our luck changed when we pulled in the parking lot.....Chili's was GONE...CLOSED....:( So, we got back in the car and by this time it was getting late. After much deliberation and lots of driving we ended up at Old Chicago I love pizza, so I was very happy with that decision. After we put the kids to bed that night Seth & I headed out to a late movie. We saw Valentines Day. Disappointing movie, but still had a great time out with Seth.
I got a bunch of candy, the Glee Volume 2 CD & an i-pod shuffle, (and flowers from my visiting teachers - thanks girls!) It was a GREAT birthday!! I am so excited to use my i-pod. It is exactly what I wanted for my marathon training (in case you didn't know, I am running the Newport Marathon on June 5th!)
Of course my post wouldn't be complete without some pictures of the kids:)

getting baby brother after nap time, she was playing peek-a-boo with him

play time outside, the weather is amazing!

oh, I just LOVE him!!!!
