Salem, Kimmie's new toy and the driving range!

We went to Salem last week. I have never been there so Seth took me to show me around. It was not at all like I thought it would be. There was no skyline and it reminded me a lot of Southgate, Michigan (that's where I grew up for those of you who don't know). The capital building was so strange looking, it looks like a temple. Here is a picture of it....

Yesterday Kimmie got a jumper/exersaucer thing (thank you Grandma Bev) and she LOVES it!!! Her little toes barely touch the ground so she just sits in it and swings her legs around and plays with the toys on it. It is so cute!

Yesterday Seth, me and Scott went to the driving range. The only type of "golfing" I have ever done is miniature golf, but I'm told that doesn't count;) It was harder than I thought it would be but I really liked it. I did miss the ball a few times...ok more than a few times.....but I hit it a couple times too! I liked it and maybe I'll even try to play a real game of golf when the weather gets better! This picture of me is pretty good, I took this one of Seth too late so he's already finished his swing, and here is Scott.

Kimmie is 5 months old!!!!

Yesterday Kimmie turned 5 months old! It has gone so fast and she has changed so much. Here are some fun pictures we took......She is drooling so much now, she always seems to soak all her shirts. She loves trying to sit up on her own so I put her on the couch and let her try. She did pretty good, occasionally fell over but then just laid there and played. The next picture is her "thinker" picture. She LOVES sleeping like this, it's too cute! The last one is her playing with her Tigger from Uncle Nathan. He bought it for her from Disney World and she loves doing tummy time with it.

Oh yeah, and the most important thing that happened this week is.......
I was playing tummy time with Kimmie and she looked so cute so I reached to grab the camera. I only turned my back for a second and when I turned back around she was on her STOMACH!!!! She rolled over and I missed it! I was surprised and happy and also a little sad because I missed it. She hasn't done it again since, but she gets so close every time so it will happen again very soon.

Such a sleepy girl.....

Here is a cute video of Kimmie. She has just finished eating and is so sleepy. She always bobs her head like this when she is really tired so we finally recorded it. She is getting really good at burping on her own, which you can hear in the video. We hope you like it.........

2007 in a nutshell

Well, 2007 sure was exciting, her is our year in review..........
January: We brought in the New Year with Seth's brother Scott and some of Chrissy's friends from Outback (Susan and Kim). Then on January 23rd we found out Chrissy was 7 weeks pregnant, by far the best news of the year!
February: Seth surprised me with a great Valentines day and then on the 20th we celebrated my 25th birthday. Seth always plans such wonderful surprises, too much to type!
March: I think this month was kind of boring, just spent most of our time working and Seth was going to school. I was still adjusting to morning sickness, but it wasn't that bad.
April: Chrissy's family came out from Michigan for Tom's grandson's (Jonathan) wedding. While they were in town we went and had an ultrasound done and found out we were having a girl, but Seth's already knew that;) In the middle of the month our car died, so we started sharing a car. At the end of the month Seth and I took a trip to the Grand Canyon and to Las Vegas. After a lot of driving, (well Seth drove and I kept him company) and some car trouble we made back home to Orem. The trip was fun but Vegas isn't really our kind of place. Chrissy was really starting to show and the morning sickness was long gone!
May: We started school for the summer and began packing for our big move......
June: Finished school and Seth's mom came to Utah to help us move. We finally took the car in to get fixed, but sadly they didn't fix it but took our money. After finals, packing and buying a car, we headed off to Oregon with more help from Tina and Scott. We made a stop in Boise to rest and visit Seth's Grandma Davenport and Aunt Neva and Uncle Steve. Once we were in Oregon Tina and Scott stayed a few days but then it was time to say goodbye:( We also celebrated our one year wedding anniversary on the 30th!!! We went to the coast and stayed at Seth's aunts beach house. The weather was great and we had so much fun!
July: Wow, Chrissy was getting really big! At the beginning of the month we moved into our new apartment. After a few days we had everything unpacked and the nursery was all ready for baby Kimberly to come in September. At the end of the month we went to Seattle with Seth's family. Chrissy had never been before so it was a lot of fun. She was excited to see a fish thrown at Pikes Place (I am so easily amused). The summer is almost over and despite a couple days of 100 degree weather, being pregnant during the summer wasn't so bad.
August: This month started off normal. Then, on the 14th we took Chrissy to the hospital after she was up all night in pain. When we got there they admitted her for kidney stones, but never checked to see if she was in labor. After almost 32 hours of no kidney stones and almost 48 hours of no sleep for Chrissy, they checked Chrissy and found out she was in labor! On August 16th at 10:10pm Chrissy delivered a 7lb 6oz, 19 1/2in kidney stone named Kimberly Grace:) Chrissy's mom flew out right away and was able to stay a week with us. After a short stay in the NICU Kimmie came home.
September: We spent most of the month adjusting to being new parents. Kimmie only wanted to eat every 4 hours, sometimes longer and would rather sleep than eat. So, we spent most of the first few weeks watching her and waiting for those sleepless nights to come, but they never did! Seth started school, he was taking 2 classes and decided on a major. He is going to become a Physcians Assistant! Seth's brother Nathan was getting ready to leave for his mission to Argentina and his farewell was at the end of the month.
October: The first weekend of October we flew to Utah to visit Tina and Scott and some friends. They all got to meet Kimmie for the first time. Nathan left for the MTC and next time he sees Kimmie she will be two! Kimmie dressed up as a pumpkin for Halloween. We took her to trunk or treat at Seth's parents ward and then we passed out candy. She is growing so fast, it's great!
November: In the beginning of the month Chrissy's family all flew to Oregon for Kimmie's blessing. Her Grandma Groves was also able to come out. It was great having everyone in town but next time we need a bigger place;) On the 24th we celebrated Seth's 25th birthday. Chrissy planned a special dinner but after a few mishaps and tears in the kitchen we ended up going out to dinner.
December: Seth finished up finals and received 2 B's, good job Seth! We celebrated our Christmas early on the 14th and flew to Michigan on the 15th. We celebrated Christmas with Chrissy's family. It was a great Christmas, Santa was very kind to us! While in Michigan we found out Tina and Scott are expecting. We are so excited for them! After a long, but wonderful time in Michigan we flew back to Oregon. We celebrated New Years with Seth's family and also alone as our new little family.

2007 was a wonderful year filled with too many memories to type. I think we covered most of the main events but I am sure I forgot some. Please leave any memories you have with us from 2007 that I have not included. Be sure to look back at our old posts from last year and catch up on anything you might have missed and look at pictures from throughout the year. We are so excited for 2008 and the wonderful memories to come!

What a night....

So, last night was Kimmie's first night sleeping in her crib. She has been sleeping in a cradle in our room (the cradle was built by my dad when I was born). She is such a great sleeper so we decided it was time to move her into her own room. She did great! She slept through the night with no problems...I on the other hand had a hard time falling asleep. I was so nervous about her being far away in the room next door. But after a prayer and some comforting words from Seth I was fine. She is growing so fast, I can't believe it! Her two teeth have slowed down a little but are continuing to make their way in.
Our New Years celebration consisted of pizza with Seth's family and we watched Singles Ward 2 (a cheesy movie, had some funny parts but not as good as the first one). Then we left around 11:45 to head home to bring in 2008 as our little family. Then we went to bed around 12:30, we are so exciting, aren't we???
Seth and I are keeping busy spending time with Kimmie and getting ready for school to start. I decided to take some more classes this semester so I have 6 credits. Seth is taking 14 credits, he has some super hard classes so it will be a busy 10 weeks for him (Oregon does trimesters instead of semesters). After our vacation to Michigan we are back to working out. I am proud to say I have lost almost 40 pounds since Kimmie was born in August. Unfortunately, I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant so I still have 10 more to lose to reach my pre-pregnancy weight. Then I still want to lose 30 more pounds to reach my pre-married weight:) we'll see! Seth is so good at motivating me to work out and eat healthier. He is also continuing to lose weight so I have to try to lose it faster than him. There's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, right?? Our goal is to be close to our goal weight by summer. Wish us luck!
Well, I have to get going now. We don't have the internet at our apartment yet, so we come to Seth's parents and it's time to go home. We are getting the internet this week so I will be better at posting then! We hope everyone had a great New Year. I can't believe it's 2008!!!!!
