Our trip to Utah & more!

Okay, so I have been behind on blogging, sorry. In the beginning of the month we went to Utah. While we were there we were VERY busy!! Here is a rundown of what we did: BYU football game (my first college football game ever!); went to a Grizzlies game (hockey); saw Aunt Stephanie's new house (which is very nice); hung out with Flee and even got to see Dave; visited my old bishop's wife (I love her!); had lunch with friends; had dinner with amazing old roommates/friends; made a mess of Angie & Rossii's house (thanks for letting us stay with you!); sho and of course spent as much time with my sisters as possible! It was an exhausting trip! We spent 6 days there and then it was back to Oregon, where Angie & Rossii joined us for a little vacation of their own. While they were here we did an underground tour of Portland, ate at voodoo donuts, watched plenty of movies (I think the last count was 8 total) and had some really good laughs. It was nice having them visit! Now that things are starting to settle down again, we have planned another trip to Utah on December 6th! My mom can't get the holidays off work, so we are all meeting in Utah to celebrate Christmas early! It will be so nice to see my mom again, it has been too long & Kimmie has changed so much. Hmmmm......I think that about covers our past couple weeks. Oh wait, one new thing: Kimmie has always liked music, but now she has decided she loves rock music the most! She has two favorite songs that she loves to dance to. When you turn on a song she starts bobbing her head and swinging her arms and her face lights up with a huge smile. It cracks me up! We recorded it, so I will post it soon. Here are a some pictures from our trip. (I didn't take many on our camera, so I have more of Kimmie with my sisters, but they are on Nicky's camera) These pictures are in backwards order of our trip, but I am too lazy to take the time to fix it, sorry:) Oh, and today Seth took me out driving to some places where they filmed Twilight! It was so fun, but I know realize I am a huge nerd!!!

I just saw TWILIGHT!!!!!

Ok, so it is 1:00am Wednesday night (I guess it is technically Thursday) and I just got home from seeing Twilight!!!!! You may be asking yourself why I got to see it before it is even out yet, but I am just a lucky girl I guess:) Anyway, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!!! Without giving away too much, I will just say it was really good. It was not exactly what I was expecting and going into it I was not happy with their choice for Edward, but now I think they made a great decision casting him! I want to blog about all of the movie, but I will save that for later. It was more humorous than I thought it would be and I really liked Jasper's character (you will understand when you see it) Ok, I hope I haven't spoiled it too much for anyone. My only piece of advice is only see the movie if you have read the books. Overall, I thought it was a great movie and now I am going to read the books again. I can't wait for the next movie!!! Well, I can't wait to read everyone else's blogs about the movie! I am going to bed, goodnight!

It's been a while

Ok, so I know it has been a while since I have posted, but we have been super busy. We spent a week in Utah & right now our friends Angie & Rossii are in town visiting. I have all sorts of fun pictures from our recent adventures and I promise I will post them once things settle down! We had so much fun in Utah & really miss my family & all our amazing friends. Kimmie loved spending time with Aunt Tina (and Uncle Scott), Aunt Nicky & cousin Spencer. Kimmie has mastered peek-a-boo and how to blow kisses. It was a lot of fun, but it will be nice to get our life back on schedule. We are going back to Utah on December 6th to celebrate Christmas early. Kimmie is so excited to spend time with Grandma!!!

Ouchie!

Well, yesterday Kimmie was sitting on the couch in the playroom watching Cinderella while I was on the computer (which is in the same room, don't worry, I didn't just leave her to fend for herself). One of her favorite parts in the movie is when the mice start singing while making her dress. She decided to stand up and dance, which was a bad idea! I watched as she tumbled over the side of the couch. I was nervous because we have a wooden trunk we keep blankets in and she just barely missed it, or so I thought. She didn't cry for long and was back to singing before the song was even over. She was fine the rest of the day and then when I was getting her changed into her pajamas I noticed the scrape on her thigh and stomach! I guess she didn't miss the trunk like I thought. She must have scraped along it when she fell. sorry this picture isn't the best quality & there is a shadow on it. I feel so bad! It does not seem to be hurting her, but this is her first major ouchie. She falls a lot now that she is walking everywhere but she is so tough and just gets right back up. It is so sad seeing your little baby hurt! It didn't break the skin or anything, so we are lucky, it could have been a lot worse!
Onto something not so sad, I am still having trouble being a shop-a-holic at Goodwill! Here is what I have bought in the last couple months:
for me:
1 sweater 2 skirts 3 dresses (brand new, tags still on) 3 pairs of capris (all brand new with tags still on) 1 pair sweatpants 1 pair knee length shorts (brand new) 1 shirt 1 pair of Diesel shoes, brand new with tags still on!!
for Kimmie:
2 pairs of shoes (brand new) 1 dress 3 pants Baby Einstein DVD 2 sweaters 1 shirt 1 pair rain boots
Random stuff:
2 tennis raquets 3 tennis balls 2 books for Seth butter dish & all the supplies for the candy dishes I have been making
The grand total I spent for all of this was $89.92!!! Can you believe it!!! I am hooked! Seth says I have a problem, but oh well:) Now I am on the hunt for Christmas!
Oh yeah, Kimmie has been drooling like crazy & today we noticed one of her molars finally came through! We are glad it finally happened and excited to the rest to finally come through!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween! We are excited to go trick or treating tonight, but it is raining so we probably won't stay out too long. I don't have much to say, so here are some more pictures:)

Trunk or Treat

We just returned from our wards Trunk or Treat. In case anyone reading doesn't know what that is it is a Halloween activity our church puts on. It starts with games and goodies at the church and then everyone goes to the parking lot and the kids go from trunk to trunk "trunk or treating". It is such a fun activity. Last year after Halloween I bought a Lady costume from the Disney store for $3! It was such a steal & I was so excited for Kimmie to wear it. When we tried putting it on her she screamed like crazy! (her molars are coming in so she is very moody) We were able to get most of the costume on her, but not the gloves or the hat. When we arrived the gym was packed with people. Kimmie was super nervous around all the people & it was really warm so we spent time outside. Then, it was time to trunk or treat! We walked to the car and decided to try putting Kimmie's hat on. To our amazement she didn't make a sound! It didn't even bother her! Seth stayed at the car to pass out candy while I took Kimmie around. She loved it! She carried her little pumpkin bucket (which I got at goodwill for $1) and walked from trunk to trunk. She was so good & looked so cute! We quickly ran out of candy, all 6 bags, and it was getting close to bed time so we headed home. We gave Kimmie her snack and then let her have one piece of candy. She ate that chocolate so fast! 20 minutes later she was in bed for the night! It was so fun. We will take her out again on Friday, but we will probably only do a few houses.
Monday night for FHE we carved a pumpkin. I love carving pumpkins but this year our cheap carving knives broke, BOTH of them, so we had to finish with our kitchen knife! We just carved a goofy face so it wasn't anything too artistic. Let's see....what else has been going on. Sometimes while we are on walks with Kimmie we find caterpillars along the trails. Last Sunday on our walk we stopped and Seth picked one up for Kimmie to pet. At first she was scared, but after some coaxing from Seth she touched it and really liked it. She is so funny. She acts so afraid but always ends up liking things. Her newest thing she likes to do is go outside and sit on the porch. She will sit there all day if we let her! It is so cute. Sometimes she sits on the ground & puts her arms up on the porch, so cute! Here are some pictures, enjoy! Wait, one more thing. Be sure to get out and vote! You're vote matters!!!

The zoo & videos! A must see:)

Seth has school every Tuesday & Thursday in downtown Portland. Sometimes he drives himself, other times I drive him so I can have the car. Today, we decided I would drive him & take Kimmie to the zoo since it is only a few minutes from his school. It has been really nice outside so we figured we better go before it starts raining all the time. So, we dropped Seth off & headed to the zoo! Since it was early in the morning, it was kind of chilly. I am so glad I brought Kimmie's blanket. At first she was nervous around the animals. When I took her out of her stroller she clung to my pants & didn't want to get too close to the fence. All that changed when we got to the Sea Lions! She was still careful not to get too close to the glass, so instead she stood in front of me and just watched....and watched....and watched until I eventually pulled her away (at which point she started to scream) Luckily kids forget fast and by the time we reached the next exhibit she forgot why she was crying. We walked around & saw all the fun animals. We also went in to see the birds. They fly all around you & sometimes land on you. Kimmie loves birds, CAW was one of the first animal sounds she made. She really enjoyed being in with the birds & would have stayed there all day but I was afraid of being pooped on so we only stayed a few minutes:) Here are some more pictures from our day at the zoo (and one of Kimmie trying to drink my water).......

I have mentioned before the animal sounds Kimmie says & things Seth has taught her. It is very hard to get it on video because she always stops when she sees the camera. But, today we were able to capture some on film! She says 8 different animal sounds right now (dog, cat, cow, bear, bird, sheep, owl & thumper she wiggles her nose). We are working on monkey now, it is so funny when she tries to do it! We have a lot of videos, but it takes too long to upload so I narrowed them down to two. Enjoy!
