In one week Joshua went from staying in one place, to crawling everywhere, talking and gettting his first tooth! His first word was "Dada" on March 4th and now he also says "Mama" and his first tooth finally poked through on March 6th. He is seriously the sweetest, happiest baby in the world. He loves playing peek-a-boo. Kimmie can get him laughing like crazy playing peek-a-boo behind the couch. He isn't even 8 months old yet and is already keeping us on our toes. He crawls everywhere and will eat any and everything he can find. He is so happy and loves showing of his toothy grin!

CRAWLING!!!
Today while I was at the dentist I got a text from Seth. This is what it said,
"holy crap, Joshua just crawled!"
I can't believe I missed it, but Seth was amazing and took lots of video. Joshua just turned 7 months old and is our earliest crawler yet....that means he will probably be our earliest walker. I am not ready for him to grow up. He is changing so much. He eats real food (I have started making my own baby food and am loving it so far) He smiles and laughs all the time. He is such a relaxed baby. He is content to hang out on the floor all day watching his big sister and brother. I am sure that is why he is crawling, he is dying to be running around with Kimmie and David. He loves scooting around...now crawling around...to discover the world around him. He is such a sweet boy!

6 months old
I can't believe our sweet baby boy is already over 6 months old! Here are his stats from his 6 month check-up:
Height: 26 3/4 inches
Weight: 16 lbs 12.5 ounces
Head: 17 5/8 inches
He is growing great and developing ahead of where he should be. Even though he can't crawl yet (he is so close) he still manages to move all over the place. He is such a smiley boy and is loved so much by everyone around him, especially his big sister and brother!
I just can't get enough of this cute little boy! Here are some recent pictures of him:)

so excited!
He sleeps in the strangest position, all bent and arched, but he is all smiles when he wakes up!

2011...2012
Well, I have been terrible at blogging lately, but I am finally going to catch everyone up on what has been going on with us.
For the first time in our marriage, we are officially homework free! That's right, I (Chrissy) finally graduated on December 10, 2011 with my Bachelors degree from Portland State University (exactly one year after Seth). It feels so nice to have my spare time back...well, as much spare time that a mother of three can have!
We spent Christmas at home and it was so great to watch the kids get so excited about presents, but my favorite thing was hearing Kimmie tell us the story of Jesus being born. She would sit down with her scriptures and pretend to read along as she told us all about it. She even knew the three gifts the wise men brought...I don't think I knew that until last year so she is already ahead of me when it comes to the scriptures:) Seth's brother, Nathan, was also able to come home before heading back to BYU-Hawaii. The kids loved having him around. It was nice to have the whole Davenport family together for the holidays.
On December 31st we flew to Utah to spend time with my family. We ate way too much food, stayed up way too late, and had a ton of fun. The kids loved playing with their cousins and friends. We spent one day down in Orem driving by our old apartment and reminiscing about the first year of our marriage. So much has changed since then, it was nice to go back and revisit those memories.
After spending 6 days in Utah we had to say goodbye to our family and friends and head back home. It was nice to get back to our usual schedule, but I really miss everyone...a lot!
2011 was a year full of many blessings (sweet baby Joshua) and many trials. I am very excited for 2012 and I know it is going to bring amazing things for me and my family.
Here are a few things 2012 will bring:
trips to the zoo
family games on our new xbox (thank you Grandma Bev!)
date nights
Chrissy's 30th birthday
walks to the park
David's 3rd birthday
family movie night with lots of popcorn
Joshua's 1st birthday
watching Kimmie and David sing and dance around the living room
running a half-marathon (Chrissy)
Kimmie's 5th birthday
kissing baby Joshua's chubby cheeks
working out
Kimmie starting kindergarten...although I don't think I am ready for that one!!!
Seth's 30th birthday
fun crafts with Aunt Cyndy (she always finds fun stuff to do on pintrest)
lots of snuggling with the kids
spending time with family and friends!
**pictures will come in the next post, I promise! Right now Kimmie wants me to come snuggle with her and I can't refuse that:)**

Spotlight
A couple weeks ago Kimmie was the "spotlight" at church. She was so excited to tell us all about how the teachers turned off the lights, shined a flashlight around the room while repeating a rhyming poem (which she knows by heart and repeated to us) and then the spotlight stopped on her!
Who knew she wanted to be a firefighter:) I think the "go on a mission to Europe" might be because Aunt Cyndy and Oma went to Europe this year and now it's all Kimmie talks about:) She is such a sweet girl and is growing so fast. I can't believe she will be starting kindergarten in September! I better enjoy this time with her, because I know it will go by way too fast!

funny kids...
So you know I have the cutest kids ever, but did you know they also have an amazing sense of humor to go along with their great looks?!? Between the witty things Seth says and the things the kids say, there is not a boring moment in our house. Last night Kimmie had us all cracking up and I realized that I really need to write down the cute things they say. Not a day goes by without one of the kids says something sweet or funny that makes my day, so I thought I would share some with you guys... (I bolded my favorite ones)
· Kimmie just told me she wants to go to Disney World, get some pixie dust and fly to Utah to visit everyone. If only it were that easy:)
· David and Kimmie were playing and David pretended to shoot her and she said, "we don't shoot people, only animals and bears and buffalo"
· One morning when Kimmie was leaving for preschool she went over to David, hugged/kissed him and said "goodbye my handsome prince, I will miss you!"
· We were watching the Michigan vs. Ohio State game and Kimmie told me "next time we should go to that game, but we need to buy lots of yellow to wear" Even Kimmie knows Michigan is better:)
· Kimmie told me that when she has a baby in her belly she will go to the hospital, lay in bed and watch tv, take her shoes off and take a break, just like mommy did. I wish having a baby was that easy:)
· Kimmie was sitting on Oma's dresser and I warned her not to jump off-something her and David do a lot. About a minute later Kimmie kindly says "I need you guys to leave so you can't see me jump off the dresser" We could not stop laughing!!!
· Kimmie told me she wants to grow her hair out long so I can swing on it!
· David told me, in a very concerned voice, that his "butt is cracking". I calmly explained it is normal for your butt to have a crack:)

· One night Kimmie was in trouble and when I was disciplining her, David walked up to be and said “don’t you talk to my sister like that”
· Seth was teasing Kimmie and took her bracelet away, David charged at Seth and told him to “give that back to my sister, I am her super hero”
Now, most of these are from Kimmie but don't let David fool you, that kid is hilarious. He has the best facial expressions and is such a tease (he gets that from his daddy!) I seriously love these kids, I can't wait to see how Joshua will interact with them. He already loves them so much. Kimmie and David make him smile and laugh so much, it melts my heart every time. I am so proud to be their mommy!!

We'll be Friends Forever....
Ok, at first that post title reminded me of the Zack Attack song from Saved By the Bell, does anyone else remember when Zack formed a band???
Anyway, what this post is really about is my amazing friend Felicia came to visit a couple weeks ago. Here is how it all happened...
Seth had a free round trip flight from Southwest that needed to be used. I have been kind of down lately missing my family and really missing Felicia. It had been about 3 1/2 years since we had seen each other. She lives in D.C now, so that makes it even more difficult to visit. My husband, who happens to be the GREATEST husband in the world, decided that we could use his free flight to fly Felicia out here to visit. Felicia's husband, Dave (who happens to be the second greatest husband in the world) took time off work so he could stay home with their kids. So we did it, we booked her flight and the excitement began.
I seriously can't even tell you how excited I was to see her. Anyone who knows Felicia knows she is the funniest girl and is so nice. And anyone who knows Felicia and I together knows it equals mayhem!!!
The second I picked her up from the airport it was like we had spent every day of the last 4 years together. We were laughing and talking and catching up. That night we went downtown and went to the 12:30am showing of Breaking Dawn with Cyndy and some friends. We had the entire theater to ourselves, so the 6 of us just laughed and pretty much made fun of the movie to whole time. In case you are wondering, yes, we did plan her visit to also coincide with the release of Breaking Dawn so we could watch it together:)
I spent the rest of the weekend trying to show her all the amazing places in Oregon. I even managed to take her on a little "Twilight Tour" of places where they filmed the movies.
It was an amazing 5 days of yummy food, watching Vampire Diaries, sightseeing, a lot more yummy food, and laughing until we cried..."I'll have the tender juicy steak please!"
It was so hard to say goodbye to her, I cried the entire way home from the airport. I miss her like crazy and I wish we lived closer. I am so grateful for the amazing friendship that we have. It is crazy to think I met her almost 10 years ago, and we only knew each other for a few short months before I moved back to Michigan, but when I left we stayed really close and our friendship has continued to grow despite the many miles that always separate us. She is more than a friend, she is like a sister to me (and it helps that she lived with my sisters for a while too, and my whole family loves her!) I am so glad I have been blessed with a friend as amazing as her!
And thank you to Seth for taking care of everything while she was here. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful, supportive husband. I love you Sethy!!!!!
And also thank you to Dave for holding the fort down while she was gone., you are great...GO WINGS:)
Here are just a few highlights from her visit:
