Hey Hey Hockeytown!!!!!

We are happy to announce the Stanley Cup is finally back where it belongs, in DETROIT!!! We beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in game six. It was a great game! It is so nice to have the Wings win the cup again, I just wish I was back in Detroit celebrating. Seth, Kimmie and me enjoyed watching them beat Sid the Kid;) GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Red Wings were my inspiration for the new songs on our page!

Michigan

So me and Kimmie spent the weekend in Michigan and it was GREAT! Seth had to stay home and work:( We arrived on Saturday and returned this morning. It was a crazy busy weekend, but we had a lot of fun. It was great seeing my family with Kimmie. She loves them so much and they love her. I wish we didn't all live so far away. Nicky has graduated with her Associates and will be moving to Utah in July to finish school at UVU. I can't believe how much she has changed. I still think of her as my little sister, but she's 23 now and no longer a little girl. She has grown into a beautiful, smart, caring woman and I love her very much. Last night Nicky was playing with Kimmie and she got her to laugh so much. It was so cute. I will never forget it! Tina is looking cute and pregnant! Only a couple months to go until little Spencer is here. We are so excited to meet him! I know Tina and Scott are going to be awesome parents! Leaving my mom was really hard. I feel bad we don't live closer and she only gets to see Kimmie a couple times a year. It is hard but I know Kimmie loves her Grandma so much! It's nice to be back home again, but I miss everyone so much already! I can't believe how different everything is now. It is amazing how fast life passes by. I am very thankful for my family and friends and the wonderful memories I have. We love you all!!! I will post pictures from the trip soon.

9 months old & a video

I can't believe it's been 9 months already, time sure does fly! Today was Kimmie's check-up and she weighs 18 lbs 2 oz, 27 inches long and eating like a champ! She hasn't started crawling yet, but she is close. The doctor said she might skip crawling because she loves standing so much, but we're determined to teach her how to crawl;) She loves to go from sitting to standing while holding our hands. She is so curious! She does scoot backwards and around in circles. She is always trying to move around, which means more bumps and bruises. She talks a lot and LOVES to sing. Her favorite song is "Once Upon a Dream". Whenever she hears it she smiles and sings along. Seth's sister Cyndy plays it on the piano for her and she gets so excited!
The weather has been AMAZING! Yesterday it was 91 degrees & Seth had the day off from school & work so we made a picnic and headed up to Council Crest. The view there is great and Kimmie loves playing outside. Here are some pictures I've been meaning to post....

Kimmie is also getting good at mimicking what you say to her. She watches your mouth and tries to talk. I can tell we are going to have our hands full for the next 18 years;) Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that all four of her front teeth have come through! She's growing too fast!!!!!! Enjoy the video!

P.S. My mother's day was GREAT! Seth & Kimmie got me tickets to see Neil Diamond!!!!! YAY, I am so excited. Seth is my date to the concert, somehow I don't think he's as excited as me;) The concert isn't until September so I have almost 4 months to build up the excitement. Maybe next I'll get tickets to see New Kids On the Block...I better not push my luck;)

Christopher's Mission Call

Christopher (Seth's brother) received his mission call today and he will be serving in the Richmond, Virginia mission! We are so excited & proud of him. He leaves in the end of July. Kimmie will miss him so much (we will too). He always makes her laugh and she just loves him! She is such a lucky girl to have two uncles serving the Lord now. Seth, both her Uncle Scott's & Papa have also served missions. We are so lucky to have wonderful, worthy men in our lives! They are all such a great example to her and to me!

Seattle!

Last weekend we went to Seattle to visit Felicia, Dave & Lizzy! Dave was there before shipping out and Flee & Lizzy flew out to spend the week with him. It has been almost a year since we've seen them so we decided to drive up there. It is only a 2 1/2 hour drive and Kimmie was great! She is teething so she did get a little fussy but nothing bad. Saturday we went to Pikes Place and then to the Woodland Park Zoo. After dinner we watched Lizzy so Dave and Flee could go to the temple. We decided to take the girls swimming. Kimmie has never been before & she LOVED it. Having a 15 month old & a 8 month old gave us a little taste of what it will be like when we have another baby (no I am not pregnant!). It was so fun, Lizzy & Kimmie were best friends from the start;) Lizzy kept giving Kimmie kisses and Kimmie showed her love by poking Lizzy in the eye a few times (she hasn't quite mastered "soft" yet). Overall it was a great trip. It was so great seeing Flee & Dave. We miss them so much! I can't believe it's been 7 years since I first met Flee. She is such a wonderful person and I am so glad she is my friend. Dave is also amazing and they are perfect for each other, except he is a Colorado Avalanche fan:( We are so proud of Dave for serving our country and will miss him!
Kimmie's first tooth has finally broke through! It is just poking through so it's still hard to see but you can feel it when she chews on your finger. She has learned to shake her head "Yes" (thank you Oma) and "No" (thank you Uncle Christopher). If you ask her a question she will shake her head, it's so cute. Sometimes she gets confused and just moves her head in a circle, I think that's her "I don't know";) Well, I think that should catch everyone up on our lives. Enjoy the pictures!

8 Months Old!!!!

I can't believe Kimmie is already 8 months old! She is such a fun little girl! I love this picture of her and her Koalie Bear! She went to the doctor today for a follow-up. They wanted to make sure she was gaining weight since she dropped down to 15 lbs 6 oz while she was sick. We are happy to announce she now weighs 17 lbs 9 oz!!! The doctor is amazed she is doing so great for being born 6 weeks early. Developmentally she is right on track, even ahead in some things. She is so tall too; she's almost grown out of her 9 month pants. She is still taking medicine for acid-relux but the doctor said we can start weening her off & see how she does. She is eating solid foods 3 times a day and loves them! Her favorite is prunes & today she had applesauce. We gave her peas and ground up chicken for the first time and she did not like it! She kept gaging (we couldn't stop laughing, it was so cute). Hopefully she won't get her eating habits from me, I hate peas! Seth will eat almost anything so hopefully she follows his example! She loves to sit all by herself! She is even smart enough to hold on while sitting in the rocking chair. It is so hard to get her so sit still for pictures now. She learned how to clap & it is adorable. Now she claps in all the pictures. Last night Seth's parents watched Kimmie for us & when we got home Kimmie was so excited to see us, she started clapping. I just love watching her learn new things. She is talking more and more & smiles all the time. She still hates tummy time but oh well! She would rather spend all day sitting like a big girl! It is hard to believe it's been 8 months already. Time is going by so quick. She changes so much & has so many more changes to come! We have a fun video of her playing hide & seek with Seth we will try to post soon.

Nice weather!

This weekend the weather has been AMAZING! Yesterday it was 80 degrees! Seth had to work but they sent him home early because it was slow. We decided to take Kimmie to the park and enjoy the nice weather. She loved it! Seth picked a little flower and she sat and played with it, occasionally trying to eat it. She just looked around and tried to take in everything happening around her. She is growing so fast. She is starting to feel a lot better and is eating more so we think she has gained back the weight she lost while she was sick. The new thing she likes to do is scrunch her nose and she has discovered how to clap. She's not crawling yet, she lays on her tummy and moves her legs but doesn't understand how to lift herself up yet. She is so fun and before we know it she will be running around;)
Seth is keeping busy these days with work and school. This is Seth's last term at PCC, he was accepted to Portland State University so he will be starting there in the fall. He is working on a Bachelors in Health Studies. When he's done with all that school there is still more to come. The Masters in Physicians Assistant program is 2 years so for the next few years school will be occupying most of Seth's time. I am taking a math class, the last class I need for graduation. It is a hard math and I am really nervous about it! The last thing I want to do during the day is math homework. It's hard but so far it is going good. The class is only 10 weeks long and we are already into week 3. I just have to remind myself it won't last forever! Any other spare time we have is spent working at his parents house. We are remodeling their basement and moving in this June. The major changes are redoing the walls, changing some lighting, putting in hardwood floors in the living room/kitchen and carpet in the bedrooms. The thing I am most excited about is painting! I have been living in apartments for so long and I am sick of plain white walls! It will be a very busy 8 weeks but things will eventually slow down, hopefully;) Here are some fun pictures taken over the last couple weeks.
