8 Months Old!!!!

I can't believe Kimmie is already 8 months old! She is such a fun little girl! I love this picture of her and her Koalie Bear! She went to the doctor today for a follow-up. They wanted to make sure she was gaining weight since she dropped down to 15 lbs 6 oz while she was sick. We are happy to announce she now weighs 17 lbs 9 oz!!! The doctor is amazed she is doing so great for being born 6 weeks early. Developmentally she is right on track, even ahead in some things. She is so tall too; she's almost grown out of her 9 month pants. She is still taking medicine for acid-relux but the doctor said we can start weening her off & see how she does. She is eating solid foods 3 times a day and loves them! Her favorite is prunes & today she had applesauce. We gave her peas and ground up chicken for the first time and she did not like it! She kept gaging (we couldn't stop laughing, it was so cute). Hopefully she won't get her eating habits from me, I hate peas! Seth will eat almost anything so hopefully she follows his example! She loves to sit all by herself! She is even smart enough to hold on while sitting in the rocking chair. It is so hard to get her so sit still for pictures now. She learned how to clap & it is adorable. Now she claps in all the pictures. Last night Seth's parents watched Kimmie for us & when we got home Kimmie was so excited to see us, she started clapping. I just love watching her learn new things. She is talking more and more & smiles all the time. She still hates tummy time but oh well! She would rather spend all day sitting like a big girl! It is hard to believe it's been 8 months already. Time is going by so quick. She changes so much & has so many more changes to come! We have a fun video of her playing hide & seek with Seth we will try to post soon.

Nice weather!

This weekend the weather has been AMAZING! Yesterday it was 80 degrees! Seth had to work but they sent him home early because it was slow. We decided to take Kimmie to the park and enjoy the nice weather. She loved it! Seth picked a little flower and she sat and played with it, occasionally trying to eat it. She just looked around and tried to take in everything happening around her. She is growing so fast. She is starting to feel a lot better and is eating more so we think she has gained back the weight she lost while she was sick. The new thing she likes to do is scrunch her nose and she has discovered how to clap. She's not crawling yet, she lays on her tummy and moves her legs but doesn't understand how to lift herself up yet. She is so fun and before we know it she will be running around;)
Seth is keeping busy these days with work and school. This is Seth's last term at PCC, he was accepted to Portland State University so he will be starting there in the fall. He is working on a Bachelors in Health Studies. When he's done with all that school there is still more to come. The Masters in Physicians Assistant program is 2 years so for the next few years school will be occupying most of Seth's time. I am taking a math class, the last class I need for graduation. It is a hard math and I am really nervous about it! The last thing I want to do during the day is math homework. It's hard but so far it is going good. The class is only 10 weeks long and we are already into week 3. I just have to remind myself it won't last forever! Any other spare time we have is spent working at his parents house. We are remodeling their basement and moving in this June. The major changes are redoing the walls, changing some lighting, putting in hardwood floors in the living room/kitchen and carpet in the bedrooms. The thing I am most excited about is painting! I have been living in apartments for so long and I am sick of plain white walls! It will be a very busy 8 weeks but things will eventually slow down, hopefully;) Here are some fun pictures taken over the last couple weeks.

Angie & Rossii's visit

Our friends Angie and Rossii drove up from Utah to visit this weekend. They arrived Thursday night. After spending some time talking and playing with Kimmie we drove out to the Oregon coast and stayed at Seth's aunts beach house. That night we played games, Seth and Rossii played Donkey Kong. I am proud to say Seth holds the high score but Rossii put up a good fight! Friday morning we went down to the beach and then did some shopping and headed back to our place. Friday night Scott came out with us and we all went to see the movie Counterfeiter. It is a German film so it had subtitles, but it was good, we recommend it.
Saturday morning Seth and I had a final so Angie and Rossii were kind enough to babysit for us. Sadly, Kimmie slept the whole time so all they got to do was peek at her in her crib. After our final we took them to see the Temple and to visit PCC's campus (Angie is thinking about transferring there). Then we went up to Council Crest so they could see the view and then it was off to visit Scott at his work event. Scott has a new job at a local radio station and they had an Easter event so we went. They had a "Mommy" easter egg hunt so Ang and I decided to do it. We had our attack plan all set and the countdown began but all the sudden the crazy mom's took off running before the countdown was finished, CHEATERS!!! I was only able to get one egg and Ang got two. Our eggs had candy in them and we also won a $25 gift certificate to Costa Vida. They also had elephant ears so we bought some. Ang & Ross had never had a an elephant ear before and they were delicious! While Scott finished work we did some more shopping, tax free! Ang & Ross introduced me (Chrissy) to Nordstrom Rack and my life will never be the same!
After shopping we met up with Scott and drove down to the Columbia River Gorge. The weather was great, a little windy but still nice. We finished the night with some Chinese food & Nutella ice cream and sitting around laughing. Ang & Ross are such amazing people! Every time we are with them I laugh so hard. We really enjoyed having them stay with us and Kimmie loved it too! We hope they had fun, we sure did! It sad to see them leave but we know they love Oregon and will be moving her soon, hopefully;) Here are a bunch of pictures.

90% sure

Tina (Chrissy's sister) had her ultrasound today and the doctor is 90% sure she is having a boy! I kind of wanted her to have a girl so Kimmie would have a cousin she could be extra close with, but we are still happy. He is healthy and growing as he should. I only got to talk to Tina for a minute today and I wish I could have said a few things to her, so I would like the chance to say them now.....
I am so happy that you and Scott are having a baby. I know that since moving to Oregon we do not see or talk as often as we used to and I just want you to know that I love and miss you. Life seems to be getting crazier each day and being so far apart makes it hard to let you know how much I miss you. I am so lucky to have a sister like you and a sister like Nicky-I love you too Nicky and I will dedicate my next love post to you, so keep an eye open for it:) I know I am not always the easiest person to deal with and I know life has not alway been easy for you but I am proud of you. You are going to be a great mom, I just wish I was close by so we could do it together. You will always be my favorite big sis and I hope you know that I am always here if you need me. Being a mom is not always the easiest, but it is the best thing you will ever do. I do not have all the answers, I am still trying to figure out how to do it, but if you ever need to talk I am just a phone call away. I love you and I am so happy for you and Scott. I pray that Heavenly Father will continue to watch over you and little Spencer (and Scott). Take care of yourself, get lots of rest and know that you are loved and missed! Here is one of my favorite pictures of me, Tina and my dad when we were young, you can see how much I loved her then and I love her more now (I think my pacifier is upside down, man I am a little trickster!)

Slide show

Here is a slide show of some recent pictures. They are mostly of Kimmie but a few of of Seth. He rolled his ankle playing basketball last week and since most of our posts are about Kimmie I figured this one should include Seth too;) His ankle is much better today and he can walk on it pretty well. The swelling has gone down but it is starting to bruise. He did the same thing when we first started dating. I included the picture from then to compare to this time. The weather has been great for the last two weeks. We have been going on walks every day (until Seth hurt his ankle) And Kimmie and I played outside and she loved it. Oh yeah, Kimmie rolled over twice yesterday! I missed the first time but Seth saw it. The second time happened at Seth's parents house and we all got to see it except for Papa (Seth's dad), sorry Papa maybe next time! Well, that's about it. Enjoy the pictures!

Chrissy's 26th Birthday and a recording of Kimmie saying Mama

Well, it sure has been a fun week! Kimberly had her 6 month well child check and she is doing great! We changed doctors, again. We didn't really like our old doctor and this new doctor is GREAT!!! Her name is Hilary Knapp and she is so nice and made us feel so comfortable. She said Kimmie is doing great but we already knew that. Kimmie now weighs 15 lbs 8 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. I can't believe how long she is, she is so tall! We have started her on infant cereal and she has so much fun eating it. Dr. Knapp says Kimmie is developing great for a 6 month old and can't believe she is a preemie. We are so grateful for Kimmie's good health and happy spirit. She is still teething, those dang teeth do not want to come through, so she gets a little fussy sometimes but other than that she is doing well.
The newest thing she loves doing is talking. She will lay there and talk like crazy. She also loves to growl, thanks to Uncle Scott. She will growl and attack her Zeebee or any other soft toy you put in her face. It is so cute, she grabs it with both hands, growls and shoves it in her mouth. While Kathy and Scott were watching her on Monday they recorded this.....listen for her little growl at the end too....
Now I know she can't associate the words she is saying with our faces yet but it is so cute to hear her talk. She loves to say dada too. It is fun to watch her learn new things, I'm so glad they caught it on tape. Thank you Oma and Uncle Scott!!
Yesterday, February 20th, was my birthday. I can't believe I am 26 already. I remember when I thought that was old;) The birthday week started with Seth and I going to a Portland Winterhawks hockey game. They lost but we had awesome seats, right on the glass next to the penalty box. It was a lot of fun! Yesterday Seth made me breakfast. We had whole grain pancakes and turkey sausage. I know, it sounds strange but it was so good! While I was getting ready for class Seth told me Kimmie did the cutest thing and he recorded it and wanted to show me. I was surprised to see that when the tape started it was my family in Michigan wishing me a Happy Birthday! Of course it made me cry. Seth got everyone to send birthday wishes to me and I was so surprised! He is so sneaky, what am I going to do with that boy?!? Seth made an appointment for me to get a massage after class. It was so nice, I have been getting really bad headaches and the masseuse worked a lot on my neck and back. It was the best! After the massage we spent some time at Seth's parents and then Kathy, Cyndy and Scott watched Kimmie while we went to dinner. After eating way too much at Outback we headed back to pick up Kimmie. When we got there they surprised me with a cake and sang Happy Birthday. We also had ice cream. Did you know they make girl scout cookie ice cream? I definitely recommend it! (thanks Scott!) I am so thankful for Seth's family. I really love them a lot and appreciate all they do for me! After cake and ice cream we headed home. As if Seth hadn't done enough for me all day he gave me a present when we got home. I can't believe how great he is! I am the luckiest! Sorry we don't have any pictures to post, we forgot out camera so the only pictures we took were on a disposable camera and it could be a while before we get those developed. My birthday was great and I am so excited to see what wonderful things 26 brings! Life has been good to me so far and I know it will only continue to get better!

6 months old

Wow, I can't believe Kimmie is already 6 months old! She is growing so fast. Her 6 month check-up is on Tuesday and we are very excited to find out how much she weighs and how long she is. You can already tell she will be tall when she's older. She loves talking! Every time we are driving in the car she just talks, talks, talks. When she gets really tired she sucks her thumb, it is so cute! Not only does she love talking but she can sit all by herself! She loves sitting like a big girl! Here are some pictures, enjoy........
