A couple months ago I bought a pass off Living Social to the University of Oregon Museum of Natural Science, in Eugene. Now you may be asking why would I buy a pass to a museum that is 2 hours away...the answer is because it is part of a "passport program" where you get access to other museums nationwide...one of which is the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). Usually OMSI would be super expensive for our family to get into, but I was able to get my 1-year family membership for $17!!! Instead of having the museum in Eugene mail our membership, we decided to take the kids and spend a day out there. It was a lot of fun.
First we went to the museum and got our new membership and walked around. It is a very small museum, really only 3 rooms, but the kids liked it. After spending about 20 minutes there we had seen everything and decided to walk around the University of Oregon campus. There was a track meet going on at Hayward Field and the kids really liked watching them run. Then we walked over to the Mathew Knight Arena, the new basketball arena. After that we drove to the only Chili's in Oregon so I could get some chips and salsa:) The kids played in the play area at the mall for a bit and then we headed to the grocery store to buy some snacks for the drive home. It was a fun day!
