Our little pumpkin

Hello everyone! I just love the fall season and it is especially beautiful in Oregon. The leaves changed colors and are falling, the temperature is also falling but I love it! Over the weekend Seth, Kimmie, Scott and me went to the pumpkin patch. There is a show called Little People Big World on TLC and they have a pumpkin patch near by so we decided to go. It was kind of lame but we got our pumpkins so mission accomplished. We started carving them but the knife broke while I was carving and cut my finger so I think we are done with that. We got Kimmie's little pumpkin carved so that's good enough.
Speaking of little pumpkins.....Kimmie is a little pumpkin for Halloween. We took her to trunk or treat at Seth's parents ward for a little bit and tonight we are passing out candy! She has slept most of the day, so she's not too excited for Halloween. My parents, Nicky and grandma Groves come into town tonight so I think she is getting her rest while she can. Tina and Scott get here on Friday:)
Kimmie is growing so fast, last week she weighed 11 lbs 5 oz. I was told that we have to do her weight and height according to when my due date was, so technically she is measured 6 weeks younger. Even doing it that way she is still normal for her weight to height ratio. She is also learning to suck her thumb, it is so cute. I have a video of it I will post later. Although she does not do most of the things a 10 week old does, she is starting to smile so much more and can really focus on objects. It is so great when she makes eye contact. The doctor says we only have to consider her a "preemie" until she is 2. But, she is such a smart girl and she is already catching up so fast so we're not worried. Well, time to pass out candy. Happy Halloween!!!!
P.S. Happy Birthday (yesterday) Scott Dillenbeck!!!!!

2 months old!!!!!

Yesterday Kimmie turned two months old!! I can't believe it, she is getting so big. She had her 2 month well child check and she is doing great. She now weighs 10 lbs 13 oz, which is in the 50th percentile. She is 23 1/2 inches long, which is in the 90th percentile! If she keeps this going she'll be tall like her daddy. She had her first round of vaccines and she did great. She cried when they first stuck her with the needle but then stopped, she's so tough! Here is her 2 month picture....

Here is another cute picture of her......

And here is a picture of her wearing her uncle Scott's hat....looks like she has sticky fingers like her daddy:)

In other news Seth started his new job. He has been working 5:45am-2pm. It seems ok so far, but Kimmie and me miss him! He has school Monday-Thursday nights so we see him for a little bit before he goes to class. He is looking into a CNA program so he will probably start that soon. We found a place that will pay to train and certify you as long as you work for them for 6 months after. That is what he is going to do so he can get a job at the hospital as a CNA, which pays better. Plus, it will look good on his application to the PA program. Oh yeah, in case I haven't mentioned it Seth has finally picked a career. He is going to get his bachelors degree and the apply for his masters to be a Physicians Assistant. He is really excited about it and so am I. He loves helping people and I know he will do a fabulous job!!! Nothing new is going on with me. I still have one class left to complete to get my associates degree. It is an online independent study math class and I haven't been very motivated lately, I really need to finish that. Being a mom is great. I can't believe what a great little girl Kimmie is. She still only eats every 4 hours and sometimes during the night she goes 5-6 hours. We are so lucky!!!
Well, our family is doing great and we hope everyone else is doing well. Leave us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you!!!!!

Utah

So, we went to Utah for the weekend. It was supposed to be a surprise for Tina but Scott spilled the beans the day before we left. Way to go Scott!!! Don't worry, we forgive you:) We left on Thursday morning and stayed until Monday night. Ross picked us up from the airport and we went to lunch with him and his wonderful wife Angie. We went back to Tina & Scott's to wait for them to get off work. Seth and I only got about 3 hours of sleep the night before because we stayed up late packing and had to leave early for the airport, so we took a nap until they got home from work. We went to dinner that night with Tina, Scott, Stephanie, Darrin, Taylor and Dylan. After dinner we took Kimmie to meet the Erickson family. It was great seeing them again. Friday we spent most of the day down in Orem/Provo. We had dinner at Outback that night with Kim,. She is one of the sweetest people I know. After dinner we visited Heather and Tom (another extremely amazing woman) and that night we stayed at Angie & Rossii's where Seth spanked Ross in RBI baseball (sorry Ross!!!) I wasn't feeling well so I went to be early. Saturday we spent most of the day with Ang & Ross and that night we went to dinner with Seth's aunt Stephanie, her fried Eric, Scott and their cousin Jeannie. We watched Disturbia that night and then went to bed. Sunday we spent all day with Tina and Scott, it was about time! It had been a long trip so we just layed around all day and watched conference and played dance dance revolution. It is a fun game, I recommend it! Monday Tina and Scott had to work so we met Tina for lunch and then went to Stephanie's for a bit then spent more time with Tina and Scott until it was time to go to the airport. Well, that is our trip in a nut shell. It was crazy busy but so much fun!!! Kimberly was great on the plane, she slept the whole time. But, I think the trip over-stimulated her too much and she has now learned how to use her lungs!!
Now it's back to school for Seth and he starts orientation this Monday. He is starting a job at Good Samaritan hospital, it's just on-call for now so we'll see how it goes.
Here are a bunch of pictures from our trip. Enjoy!!!

I've been tagged........

1) Where did you meet your husband?

We met in our American Sign Language class at Utah Valley State College

2) What was the first thing you said to your husband?

I signed "Hi, my name is Chrissy, what is your name?"

3) Where was your first date?

We went on a double date to TGI Fridsy's and bowling, but we don't count that, we count our first date the next week when we went to see Walk The Line.

5) Did you have a short or long engagement?

Short, only 3 months. It was the longest 3 months ever!!!

6) Where did you get engaged?

We were going to his Aunt Stephanie's house for dinner and a movie with her. I had never been there before so I was kind of nervous. When we walked in Stephanie was nowhere to be found and there were lights, candles, flowers and our song was playing. I just stood there looking around trying to figure out what was going on, I was so confused. Then I saw the dinner table and it was set for two and had candles on it. When I turned around Seth was down on one knee. I was so shocked! I just kept smacking his shoulder saying "No way! No way!" It was such a surprise. There was a nice romantic dinner ready for us but I couldn't eat because I was so excited! I am just lucky he still wanted to marry me after I kept hitting him:)

7) Where were you married?

In the Portland Oregon Temple on June 30, 2006

8) How did the reception go?

It was wonderful! The decorations were gorgeous, thank you Stephanie! And the food was just as wonderful, thank you Kevin (Seth's dad). It was the best reception I've ever been to!

9) How was the honeymoon?

It was fun, we swam with the dolphins in the Bahamas. I got sick on the way home, but it was great having my wonderful husband to take care of me:)

Kimmie's due date

Well, today is Kimmie's due date. It is crazy to think that she wasn't even supposed to be here yet, I can't imagine our lives without her. She now weighs 9 lbs 4 oz and she is 20 3/4 inches long. She is our big girl:) She is doing really well, eating like a champ and waking up more during the day. Our little family is doing great!!!!!

Kimmie update

Well, Kimberly's doctors appointment went great. She now weighs 8 lbs 10.5 ounces. He wants to see her again in a week just to make sure she is still gaining weight. If she is then we don't have to go back until her 2 month well check. Kimmie is 4 weeks old today, CRAZY!!! She is getting much better at eating. She normally wants to eat every 4 hours. Last night she slept great until her 5 am feeding. Then she didn't want to go back to sleep until 8 am. It was a little rough but I can't complain, she is a really great baby. Although she was up she wasn't crying or anything, she just wanted to be held.
Seth and I went to a meeting at Portland Community College today about their nursing program. Seth is thinking about going into nursing so we went to check it out. He's still not sure if that is what he wants to do so instead of applying to the nursing program right away he is looking into becoming a CNA, working in that field for a little bit and seeing how he likes it. If he likes it then he will continue onto nursing school. The CNA program is only 6 weeks long so he would be able to start working soon. Plus, it's better that he try this in case he doesn't like it, then we are only out 6 weeks of school instead of over 2 years. We'll see what happens. It's pretty exciting, he is getting really close to figuring out what he wants to do. I am so proud of him. It is not easy picking a career. He is doing great and I know he will succeed at any career he chooses!
I am feeling much better! A little tired but Seth and I have a pretty good system set up. When Kimmie wakes up for feeding Seth changes her while I sleep and then he brings her to me and I feed her while he sleeps. If she is being fussy we take turns. He helps me so much. I am the luckiest girl ever!!! Well, Cyndy is watching Kimmie right now (so we could go to that meeting at school) and I miss Kimmie so much so it's time to end this and go home!!!!

P.S. We went to dinner with Seth's family last night at Old Spaghetti Factory. We had never been there before and probably won't ever go again. The service could have been better, but mostly because the food was not that good. It was fun being out with the fam but not my favorite restaurant.
