Joshua's 9 month check-up

I can't believe our sweet boy is already 9 months old. He is such a great baby, so smart and curious and willing to try anything...especially anything he finds on the ground to put in his mouth! Here are his stats:
Weight: 18 lbs 13.5 oz (40th percentile)
Height: 28 1/4 inches (50th percentile)
Head: 18.5 inches (95th percentile)

He is long and skinny. He has a super long torso, which makes his legs look short even though they are normal size. His head is HUGE!! It's no wonder he is always falling over, his little body can't hold up his big brain. The doctor said he looks great and since he is such a mover...and trust me, that boy never stops for one second...that we should increase his solids and fat intake. So, today we started incorporating real food with his baby food. For lunch today he had a cheese quesadilla and for dinner he had chicken and pears. I cut them up into really small pieces for him and he went to town.
He had learned how to crawl up the stairs, stands up all the time, is starting to cruise along the furniture and a couple days ago he learned how to drink through a straw. He is very social and is always smiling and showing off his 4 teeth! (two upper and two bottom) He also just learned to wave hi to people. He is doing everything so fast, I want him to slow down a bit. The doctor said she bets he will be walking by 10 months, CRAZY!!!
He is such a happy little boy and so in love with his big sister and brother. He watches them all day and tries so hard to do everything they do. They are such a great example to him and I love watching them play together.

cruising along, the picture is from my cell phone and he kept moving, so that is why it is blurry

Chrissy's 30th birthday

On February 20th I turned 30! I am not going to lie, I was a little anxious about this birthday, but I spent the day being spoiled by my amazing husband and children. The day started with breakfast in bed, then I went to the gym, then we took the kids and went to Joann Fabrics to pick out the fabric I wanted. Seth and the kids made me a Michigan fleece blanket. It is HUGE and I sleep with it every night. After Joann's, which by the way was super packed and I know how much Seth HATES that store, so it meant a lot to me that he went, we went and got Chinese for lunch. Then it was back home for nap time. After naps we took the kids bowling. This was their first time and they had so much fun. Seth and I didn't bowl, we just sat and enjoyed watching them have fun. After bowling we picked up Scott and headed downtown to meet Cyndy for dinner. We arrived at the Grilled Cheese Grille, only to discover they are closed on Mondays! So, we went to the Stepping Stone Cafe and got Mancakes instead.
By the time we got home it was time for the kiddos to go to bed. So, we tucked them in and then Seth and I headed out for some alone time. There was a diaper bag I had my eye on for a while (you know your a Mom when you want a diaper bag for your birthday!) so we headed to the store to buy it. We took our time walking around and just enjoying shopping just the two of us. Then we headed back downtown to my favorite happy hour spot for some yummy steak bites.
It was a great birthday. I did not do one dish, touch one piece of laundry, or change one diaper all day! It was an amazing way to start off 30 and I know the year will only continue to get better!!!

Kimme and David
I think Kimmie's a better bowler than me!

First....

In one week Joshua went from staying in one place, to crawling everywhere, talking and gettting his first tooth! His first word was "Dada" on March 4th and now he also says "Mama" and his first tooth finally poked through on March 6th. He is seriously the sweetest, happiest baby in the world. He loves playing peek-a-boo. Kimmie can get him laughing like crazy playing peek-a-boo behind the couch. He isn't even 8 months old yet and is already keeping us on our toes. He crawls everywhere and will eat any and everything he can find. He is so happy and loves showing of his toothy grin!

CRAWLING!!!

Today while I was at the dentist I got a text from Seth. This is what it said,
 "holy crap, Joshua just crawled!"
I can't believe I missed it, but Seth was amazing and took lots of video. Joshua just turned 7 months old and is our earliest crawler yet....that means he will probably be our earliest walker. I am not ready for him to grow up. He is changing so much. He eats real food (I have started making my own baby food and am loving it so far) He smiles and laughs all the time. He is such a relaxed baby. He is content to hang out on the floor all day watching his big sister and brother. I am sure that is why he is crawling, he is dying to be running around with Kimmie and David. He loves scooting around...now crawling around...to discover the world around him. He is such a sweet boy!

6 months old

I can't believe our sweet baby boy is already over 6 months old! Here are his stats from his 6 month check-up:
Height: 26 3/4 inches
Weight: 16 lbs 12.5 ounces
Head: 17 5/8 inches
He is growing great and developing ahead of where he should be. Even though he can't crawl yet (he is so close) he still manages to move all over the place. He is such a smiley boy and is loved so much by everyone around him, especially his big sister and brother!

I just can't get enough of this cute little boy! Here are some recent pictures of him:)

 so excited!

He sleeps in the strangest position, all bent and arched, but he is all smiles when he wakes up!

2011...2012

Well, I have been terrible at blogging lately, but I am finally going to catch everyone up on what has been going on with us.
For the first time in our marriage, we are officially homework free! That's right, I (Chrissy) finally graduated on December 10, 2011 with my Bachelors degree from Portland State University (exactly one year after Seth). It feels so nice to have my spare time back...well, as much spare time that a mother of three can have!
We spent Christmas at home and it was so great to watch the kids get so excited about presents, but my favorite thing was hearing Kimmie tell us the story of Jesus being born. She would sit down with her scriptures and pretend to read along as she told us all about it. She even knew the three gifts the wise men brought...I don't think I knew that until last year so she is already ahead of me when it comes to the scriptures:) Seth's brother, Nathan, was also able to come home before heading back to BYU-Hawaii. The kids loved having him around. It was nice to have the whole Davenport family together for the holidays.
On December 31st we flew to Utah to spend time with my family. We ate way too much food, stayed up way too late, and had a ton of fun. The kids loved playing with their cousins and friends. We spent one day down in Orem driving by our old apartment and reminiscing about the first year of our marriage. So much has changed since then, it was nice to go back and revisit those memories.
After spending 6 days in Utah we had to say goodbye to our family and friends and head back home. It was nice to get back to our usual schedule, but I really miss everyone...a lot!
2011 was a year full of many blessings (sweet baby Joshua) and many trials. I am very excited for 2012 and I know it is going to bring amazing things for me and my family.
Here are a few things 2012 will bring:
