Just one of those days....

I am sure many of you know what I am talking about, especially parents, when you have just had one of those days where you haven't even been out of bed 10 minutes before you want to crawl right back in and skip that day...well that was my day Friday. Right from the time they woke up the kids were in a "mood". Kimmie had been in timeout 3 times before lunch time and at one point I had to separate Kimmie & David because they were punching each other for who knows why. They hardly ever fight, and are extremely amazing kids, but that day was just a very stressful day filled with lots of time outs and me trying not to lose my mind!

It was a long day, but we survived. At the end of the night before going to bed, Seth and I always check in on the kids. That night we found them like this.....

Seeing this just made my day! I felt so much love and joy seeing them asleep together, it made me forget about the rough day we had. This is the first time David has fallen asleep with Kimmie. He is very independent and likes to sleep alone, he has never been much of a snuggler. They just looked so sweet sleeping next to each other and I am so happy they get along so well. Even though they have their moments, they really do love each other so much!!!

What a blessing it is to be their mom!!

bedrest, you are not my friend!

Well, last Thursday I went into the hospital having contractions that were 2 minutes apart. This is a BAD thing because I was only 24 weeks along. While in the hospital they ran an FFN test, which came back positive. What that means it that my chances of having a preterm baby are increased. So, they got my contractions under control, monitored me and baby for a while and sent us home to bedrest.
Friday I had an ultrasound and the baby looks great and I was feeling great so they said to be careful and we just had to wait and see. Well, Saturday I was having so much back pain I could barely walk and could not stand up all the way, by Saturday night it was getting better and by Sunday it was almost gone. Then, Monday morning it started again, but this time worse. After many phone calls back and forth with my midwife, a visit to my amazing friend who's a chiropractor, and another trip to the hospital it has been decided that they can't really figure out exactly what is wrong. Basically, they said that my muscles and joints are very loose perparing for baby and after the problems with contractions and bedrest, my joints shifted making it difficult and very painful to move. It is what's called Pelvic Separation and trust me it's very painful! Plus this baby boy is super heavy, causing more weight and pressure on my body.
So, I have been seeing a chiropractor and tomorrow I am going to see an acupuncturist. I am still on bed rest, but only because I cannot walk well. It takes all the energy I have just to walk to the bathroom, so I have no choice but to stay in bed. I am slowly getting better and hopefully will be feeling back to my normal self by next week. I will have to be careful and rest my body a lot. The contractions were really a warning to me to take it easy. This baby boy needs lots more time to cook and I plan to do all I can to help him stay.
But don't worry, baby is doing fine and aside from walking like a 90 year old woman, I am doing fine too! I am not out of the clear yet, because of that positive FFN test they are keeping a close eye on the baby, but so far he seems to be doing well and the contractions have slowed to only 1 or 2 a day, so that is good.

Fun day out at the falls...

Yesterday we decided to take a little trip up the Columbia River Gorge to see all the waterfalls. It was a gorgeous day out, just perfect!! We went up a different way than we usually do, so we got to see some falls I haven't been to before. There are some falls we skipped, but we did our best to get pictures of most of them. The kids were great and we had so much fun out as a family. I can't wait for summer!!

Latourell Falls

Seth walked down to Latourell Falls. It was so funny, Kimmie kept yelling "you're crazy daddy! Be careful, it's muddy!"

I love this picture because it really shows how huge the waterfall is

It was hard to get a full picture of this one, but it starts way up top

where did David go????

So tonight David is being super naughty and keeps getting out of bed. This has been going on for the past hour, he gets out of bed, walks to the door, opens it and then runs back into bed when he hears us coming. Well, this time we heard the door open and close and Seth went in to put him back to bed, but this time he wasn't there...he wasn't anywhere in his room...this is where Seth found him.... .

IN OUR BED!!!!

He was laying in the dark, cuddled up on our bed. Look at that naughty smile when we turned the light on and caught him... It was so funny. What a cute little boy, I just wish he would go to bed!!

profile shot

At my anatomy ultrasound 2 weeks ago they had a difficult time seeing some things with this baby boy's heart because of his position, so I got to go back today and get another peak at our little boy. I love this picture because you can see his cute little nose, lips and chin. Everything looks great with his heart and he has flipped and is head down. I am finally feeling him move around and we are both growing more every second. Only 19 more weeks to go...wow that's a long time!

making pizza...

The kids love playing with playdough lately. Their favorite thing to do is "make pizza" and then they put it into the "oven" (the oven happens to also be my Tupperware drawer). It is great seeing them be so creative. They are so fun!

It's a.......

BABY...

BOY!!!

Looks like Kimmie was right, I have a baby brother in my belly. He is growing great and I am feeling huge, but doing great too. Now it's time to get the boy clothes out of storage and get painting, I don't think he would enjoy a purple butterfly room:)
