Fracture

Last Thursday Seth tossed David onto the bed (like he has a million times) but David landed on his arm wrong and started crying right away. At first we thought maybe he dislocated his shoulder, but after moving his arm around and checking everything he seemed to be doing better. He could move his arm, hand, and fingers. There was no swelling and no bruising. We calmed him down and gave him some ibuprofin in case he was sore. He started playing and was dong great. That night he woke up really upset and kept us up most of the night. We decided maybe something was wrong with his arm that we couldn't see. Friday he was doing better, but every time we would touch his arm, near his wrist, he would cry and pull away. So, off to the doctor we went....then off to get x-rays....a distal radius fracture! Poor David! They put on a temporary cast and today we took him to an Orthopedic doctor to get the cast put on. The good news is he should only need the cast for 3 weeks and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He still plays, tries to crawl, and reaches for everything! We let Kimmie pick out the color for his cast, she picked blue -good thing, it would have been a long 3 weeks with a pink cast:)

I never miss a chance to get a family photo

I hate that story. We've done that with Lizzy so many times. (not breaking her arm, but tossing her on the bed/couch etc...) He's such a brave boy! I love his smiley face.
