David's Baptism

On Saturday, July 1 David was baptized, along with his best friend, Beckham Gardiner. The Gardiner's moved out of our ward, but choose to have Beckham baptized with David on this day. All of my family came to town for the baptism. Unfortunately the out of state Davenport's weren't able to make it, but we totally understand.
Everything about the day was perfect. The baptism was so beautiful. Garrett Sackley gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost. The stake picks the speakers, so I had no idea who was talking, but when I saw his name I was so excited. He is one of my favorite youth at church. He is very similar to Seth, a crazy sense of humor but a heart of gold. He gave a great talk and I had him send me the poem that he read.
After the baptism we had pizza at our house and the kids had a blast playing.
Looking like a future missionary in his new suit and Daddy's old mission nametag

This is the poem Garrett read

Brother Ed and Sister Karen have been Sunbeam teachers for all 4 of our kids. We sure to love them!!!

We are so happy we got to celebrate with day with family and friends. We are so proud of David and the decision he made to be baptized. He is such a great example to all of us and we are so grateful he is in our family!!!

David's 8th Birthday

June 19, 2017
David turns 8 years old!!! This is the first time he's ever had school on his birthday, and he was so excited! After school we went to John's Incredible Pizza for dinner and games.
David is such a sweet boy. He loves to read, play baseball, football, soccer and pretty much any sport, he also loves playing video games, especially Zelda. Basically, this boys loves anything you let him do, except eat eggs. He still isn't a fan of eggs. He will eat them, but does not enjoy it. Other than eggs he is a great eater and continues to grow like crazy. He already wears a size 3 shoes, and those are getting small on him. He hasn't had his 8 year check-up yet, because of the move, but hopefully will soon. He loves to read any book you give him, especially Minecraft books. He is great at math, very interested in science and the human body. He talks about being a doctor when he grows up and  overall is just an amazing boy!!!

 Sunday dinner with the family
David loves geology and all things rocks and minerals. So I made him a geode cake. I made the geode out of sugar and chocolate.

June 2017

June was a month of visitors. But first, Kate and I made a trip to Costco to buy each of us a new carry-on for our upcoming move....yep, you read that right, we moved. Skip to August to read all about that.....
These are my FAVORITE carry-ons. I bought one for my girls trip to Europe and it was the best, but got damaged on the flight home, so I took it back. Then they went on sale at Costco, so I grabbed one for each of us!

On June 30th Seth and I celebrated 11 years of marriage. All of my family was in town, so we didn't really do anything exciting, but getting to celebrate our sweet son David being baptized was the perfect reminder to me that I made the best choice when I married Seth. He is an amazing husband and father. He is such a great example to me of love and service, and he is a great example to our kids, especially our boys!
