Utah: Day 4

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMMIE!!!!

This day our sweet baby girl turned 6! She had quite the birthday celebration and it lasted over a week.

First thing that morning we got a phone call that Grandma Davenport (Kevin's Mom) had passed away. Luckily Kevin was able to see her before he left which was good.

Kimmie wanted "Minnie Mouse" waffles for breakfast, this is what I came up with.

We went to Thanksgiving Point to see the gardens. Seth's aunt works there and was able to get golf carts for us to drive around. Thank goodness because I would not have been able to walk that whole place. It was so beautiful and I got to drive a golf cart for the first time!

We also went to the Dinosaur Museum, something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Then we went to visit Granny. It is always fun visiting with her. She is surprisingly patient with the kids and really seems to enjoy visits from them. She gave them ice cream and pistachios, they were very happy. Then they sang "I Am a Child of God" to her before we left, it was very sweet.

That night we went back to stay with Ang & Ross and they had made a cake for Kimmie. We sang happy birthday and had some yummy cake and ice cream. They are the best friends, so good to us every time we visit!

Utah: Day 3

Our first stop of the day was eating lunch at Cafe Rio! Yummy!!! Next we moved Scott into his new place near University of Utah's campus. Then we headed to Ikea and spent the day shopping...trust me, I am not exaggerating, we literally spent HOURS there picking out stuff for Scott's new place. That night we went to stay with the Thayne's. We LOVE visiting with them, always so much fun!!!

I had Tina & Scott's car and the very first thing that happened is I broke this piece off their DVD player, nice!!

I wish we would have stopped here, but I was on a sugar restriction while we were in Utah because I kept failing my glucose screening:(

Utah: Day 2

Wednesday, August 14th

Seth, Scott and Kevin loaded up our traverse and were headed to Utah this day. We spent the day having fun with family. We visited Wheeler Farm. Utah has so many free family activities to do. That night Seth, Kevin and Scott arrived in Utah. Nicky, Tina & family were heading to Michigan the next morning, so we had to say goodbye to them:( The kids watched a movie and had a dance party. They loved every second playing with their cousins!

Utah: Day 1

Tuesday, August 13th

Seth's brother, Scott, was moving to Utah to attend graduate school at the University of Utah. We offered to help him move. Initially we were all going to drive, but my sisters were heading to Michigan that week, so I wanted to get out there early to spend some time with them, so Kathy and I flew to Utah with the kids on Tuesday. Having Kathy's help made the entire flight so easy. The kids were great at the airport and did amazing on the plane. I sat with Joshua and Kathy, Kimmie & David sat across the aisle.

Aunt Stephanie picked up Kathy and Tina and the kids picked us up. After the airport we picked up lunch and went to eat with Nicky during her break. The rest of the day was relaxing. We went to Spencer's hockey practice and just hung out and let the kids all play. They were loving every second of play time with their cousins! And of course we had to go to Chili's for dinner that night:)
