crafts & kids

So I have been in the mood to craft lately, but that can get expensive. While I was looking around online I found how to make homemade magnets. They are super cheap to make and a lot of fun! I made these Twilight magnets for a friends birthday gift. I have a few more ideas for some magnets so that should keep my crafting urge under control for a while.....

I put the kids in the bath together the other day. It went pretty good. David loves to splash & Kimmie loved to help wash David's hair. They are too cute!!!

Kimmie has been sucking her thumb so much that she has little blisters that are forming deep under her skin. It doesn't cause her any pain, but we have to keep it wrapped as much as possible, just to keep it dry.

We went to a birthday party for some friends and it was a Halloween theme. Kimmie dressed up as Jessie from Toy Story 2 (I got the costume from Goodwill for $3!!!) She loves Toy Story, or Buzz Lightyear as she calls it.

Kimmie and David are BEST FRIENDS!!! Today Kimmie was playing on the ground with him & he was just laughing and laughing. It was so cute. She is so helpful with him, anytime he needs his binky she is right there to put it in his mouth. And he loves her so much too, he smiles and lights up every time he sees her. It really is such a blessing having these two sweet children. Yesterday one of the nursery leaders at church told Seth that David's name is on the roll for this year. When Seth told me that my first thought was, no way, that must be a mistake. But, after thinking about it I realized he will be 18 months old in December (which is the age when they enter nursery!) I actually started crying when I realized that. Not because I was sad he is going into nursery, but I didn't realize how quickly they are growing up. Kimmie and David will be in nursery together for a short time and I know she will take great care of him. I can already see her helping and protecting him. I get all teary eyed again just thinking about it. David will be 7 months old tomorrow. Time needs to slow down, they are growing and changing too fast!! David is almost crawling, he can lift his entire body up and hold himself, but hasn't mastered the moving his legs part. It will happen soon, very soon!

David's first suit! I got the entire suit on sale for $18. I bought it think he would grow into it. Well, he did, just a little faster than expected. It is a size 12 months!!!

He will be 7 months old on the 19th. He is so close to crawling, anyday now!!!

David's 6 month check-up

Today was David's 6 month check-up (I know, it's a little late, but the holidays were busy!) He is doing great! The doctor was shocked by how big he is -shocked in a good way:) He weighs 20 lbs 6.5oz which puts him in the 90th percentile. His height is 28 1/4 in, which is the 97th percentile. And his head circumference is 45.3 cm which is also the 97th percentile. He is a big, healthy boy! He can sit all by himself, eats baby food 3 times per day & because he is such a strong, growing boy she said we will probaly start him on dairy products around 9 months, instead of waiting until he is 1. That boy loves to eat & is not a picky eater at all. He loves everything we give him, even prunes; he must get that from Kimmie, she loves prunes! But, we try not to give him those too often:) He is talking all the time, and even babbles "dada". He is adored by everyone around him, especially his big sister. He rolls all over the place and I am sure he will be running around in no time! He is such a sweet, smiley baby & we love him so much!
