Tuesday, March 14: Sound of Music and Salt Mines Tour
We arrived in Salzburg late Monday night. Our hotel was within walking distance from the train station. At first glance, we were not excited for being in Salzburg and were missing Munich already. There were a lot, and I mean a lot, of taxi drivers waiting outside the Salzburg station and the neighborhood we walked through wasn't the greatest, but our hotel was super cute!!! The floor we stayed on was Sound of Music theme. We struggled to find a place to eat that was still open and found a cute little place near the train station. It was ok, not great, but not terrible.

Waling to Mirabell Gardens to catch our Sound of Music Tour. It was about a 20 minute walk. There were no trains within that area, so we did a lot of walking that day.

The church from the movie is in a little town called Monsee. It was so cute and we had the BEST ham and cheese sandwiches at a little restaurant there.

the scariest slide EVER!!!!Felicia went down first and she literally flew off it, injuring her arm. I don't know why we didn't just stop there, but instead I felt the need to go down and despite trying to slow myself down, I also flew off the end. Cyndy was smart and went last and basically used her hands and feet to make her go down at a snails pace and she managed to somehow not fall off:) It was the funniest moment of our whole trip. We stopped at a little town after the salt mines. Walked around, had gelato and found the most beautiful cemetery.
That night we rushed from our tour to the hotel to change and then basically ran back to our Mozart dinner concert that night. It was in the oldest resteraunt in Europe, est in 803!!! The building was beautiful, music was fun and as always, the company was amazing. My only complaint is that the performers didn't do their hair to match the time, their outfits were great but I wish they had worn wigs or something.
After the concert we walked to find Mozart's house. My phone was acting up and took us the long way around Salzburg, but we eventually found it and got to see the beautiful city at night.They have so many beautiful fountains, but unfortunately they were all covered for the winter.

One of our favorite meals was on the train to Vienna. I still dream about the sausage and mashed potatoes.

The streets of Vienna. This was probably the coldest day of our trip and we were pretty tired. A lot of things were closed by the time we got there, so we just wandered around.

Sleeper train for me and Felicia. Cyndy was in her own. I was out right away and slept great the whole night. When we woke up we were in Switzerland!!! During the night we went through Lichtenstein, so I'm totally crossing that off as a country I've been to!
