The 80's are back with avengance

Last year we had a girls night out to go see the movie Rock of Ages. We all loved it, especially the music. So, when I heard the play was coming to town I knew we had to go...and this time dress up! So, a few of us started shopping for some 80's clothes and they were easy to find. Everything we purchased, except Shanan's awesome tutu, was purchased brand new, mostly from Target. 

My outfit was found in the clearance section and in the little girls section. I am proud to say that even 4 months pregnant I somehow fit into girls leggings:)

We caked on the blue eye shadow and made our hair as big as possible and headed out to the play. 

I am sad to say the play itself was a disappointment. It was filled with way too much sex and bad language, nothing at all like the movie. After the play we were able to meet the guy who played the main character, Drew. He was very friendly. 

I had a lot of fun dressing up and am thinking maybe an 80's theme party may be in my future....I know Seth would be thrilled to dress up...NOT!!!

Kimmie's Wolf Run

Kimmie's school did a "Wolf Run" fundraiser. Each kid had to collect pledges for their run, either per lap or flat donations. Lucky for Kimmie she has very generous family/friends. It was great, she personally asked every one who donated. She even called some family who live out of state to ask for donations. Some people were smart and just gave a flat donation...others took a big risk by donating per lap. She was so excited to run and her goal was so raise $250 (so she could win the top prize). The kindergartners run in the gym instead of outside. After some stretching/warm ups the kids were off and running. After 20 minutes of running...and one bathroom break...she ran 33 laps and earned $401.05! We are very proud of her. Not only did she win all the prizes, but she was the top girl earner in her class and got to go on a special bowling field trip with the principle. She had a blast.

Since Seth has been busy with work, we are trying to make the most of his days off. Last Saturday we met Cyndy downtown for lunch at the carts, then hung out at her theater for a bit and the kids made their own popcorn! Then we took them to the train museum, it was free so we thought we would check it out. It was a great family day!

Visit from my parents

The van started having trouble and since we have another baby coming we wanted a more reliable vehicle  and we won't be able to fit 4 kids in our car, so we started the hunt for a new...new to us...car. We found one in Michigan that we loved and Tom went to check it out. It was a great price, in fact, about $4000 cheaper than the same car would be here in Oregon. So, we decided to buy it and my parents were nice enough to drive it out to us. Not only did we get a new car but we got to spend a couple unexpected days with my parents. It was nice. We mostly just hung out at the house while they played with the kiddos. We did take them to Silver Falls, it was a gorgeous day. We were sad to see them go, but happy they got to come out and visit us. They rented a car here and drove out to Rexburg to visit Tom's family, then Utah to visit my sisters, then back home to Michigan. I am sure it was a crazy, but wonderful trip for them.
