David's 3rd Birthday

How did we go from this...

David Scott
to this...
My favorite picture of David at Nathan and Lauryn's wedding
Time seems like it is flying by. I can't believe David is already 3 years old (June 19th). He was very vocal about what he wanted for his cake...a "Monster" cake. So, this is what I came up with. It took a lot of time to decorate the frosting to look like fur, but I am happy with how it turned out and most important, he was happy with it!

Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and cake pops for eyes

So excited for his "monster" cake

just before Uncle Scott almost burnt David's lips

Kimmie was also very excited to enjoy the cake pops
delicious
We didn't do anything big this year. David wanted spaghetti and bread sticks for dinner, so I made that and then we had cake and ice cream later that night.
lots of fun presents

bubble guns to play together
sweet baby Joshua
This is the first birthday of David's that Nathan has been here for, so I had to document that he was actually there!

Daddy Daughter Date

For Valentine's Day (I know I am late posting this, I am finally catching up on my posts) Seth and Kimmie went out on a date to see the play Beauty and the Beast. Kimmie was so excited to go out with her Daddy. She still talks about it!!!

Children's Museum

One thing I love about where we live is the library has free passes you can check out to local museums. So, a few months ago we went to the Children's Museum with Cyndy and Scott. The kids had a blast...and so did we! It is so fun to watch them be creative and play. It was a fun day.

He loves playing in the water

Father's Day

Words can't even describe what an AMAZING dad Seth is!!!
We love him SOOOOOOO much.

He is so much more fun than me and the kids always have a blast with him. He is the best story teller. When it is my turn to tell stories they always correct me and make me say it "just like Daddy" and then get mad when I can't make the noises exactly like he does:)

I don't know how I got so lucky, but I am so grateful for his amazing example in my life and in the lives of our children. I fall more and more in love with him each day.

Happy Father's Day, Sethy. We love you!!!!

Falling behind

Yes, I know, I have been terrible at blogging lately. As I sit here typing this my list of things to blog about is staring me in the face. But, today will not be the day I catch up. This is just to let everyone know we are still alive and I hope to get caught up soon, but not this week. We got back from a 2 week road trip last week, just in time for the final week of wedding planning. Nathan is getting married this Tuesday. In fact, Nathan's engagement is on my list to blog about but I might just skip that and go straight to the wedding post. I hope to get back to my normal blogging next week, once things settle down. Until then...

Brotherly love

Last week we had a couple super warm days, so we decided to take the kids for a long walk to the park. Kimmie walked with me and David and Joshua rode in the stroller. As we were walking along, we looked down and saw this...

Joshua loves his big brother so much. He was just riding along, holding David's hand. These two sweet boys are the best! David plays so well with Joshua and is such a great example to him. I am excited to see how things go in the Fall when Kimmie is at kindergarten and David is running the show. Kimmie and David are both such great examples to Joshua. He is constantly trying to keep up with them. It was nice to be able to witness this tender moment between two brothers!!!

Joshua's 9 month check-up

I can't believe our sweet boy is already 9 months old. He is such a great baby, so smart and curious and willing to try anything...especially anything he finds on the ground to put in his mouth! Here are his stats:
Weight: 18 lbs 13.5 oz (40th percentile)
Height: 28 1/4 inches (50th percentile)
Head: 18.5 inches (95th percentile)

He is long and skinny. He has a super long torso, which makes his legs look short even though they are normal size. His head is HUGE!! It's no wonder he is always falling over, his little body can't hold up his big brain. The doctor said he looks great and since he is such a mover...and trust me, that boy never stops for one second...that we should increase his solids and fat intake. So, today we started incorporating real food with his baby food. For lunch today he had a cheese quesadilla and for dinner he had chicken and pears. I cut them up into really small pieces for him and he went to town.
He had learned how to crawl up the stairs, stands up all the time, is starting to cruise along the furniture and a couple days ago he learned how to drink through a straw. He is very social and is always smiling and showing off his 4 teeth! (two upper and two bottom) He also just learned to wave hi to people. He is doing everything so fast, I want him to slow down a bit. The doctor said she bets he will be walking by 10 months, CRAZY!!!
He is such a happy little boy and so in love with his big sister and brother. He watches them all day and tries so hard to do everything they do. They are such a great example to him and I love watching them play together.
