Disney World 2012 Day 4

Saturday, December 15th

Seth and I both got sick during the night, so the family took the kids to Animal Kingdom while we slept in. We met up with them later that morning. When we got there we found out David fell while running into the park, he scraped himself pretty bad but the employees were there right away to help. They took him to first aid and cleaned him up. He thought it was so cool. Seth left Animal Kingdom early because he still wasn't feeling well and that is the hottest park in Disney World. We took Kimmie on every ride. She even braved the big ones most adults are scared of. Aunt Cyndy bought her a special bracelet for riding Expedition Everest. She was enjoying it at first, until it started going backwards, then she got scared. I rode it with her and held her while we screamed:) She loved getting wet on Kali River Rapids. David didn't want to ride any rides, he was still traumatized from riding Splash Mountain the day before. 

We went to Yak & Yeti for dinner and then swimming at the hotel. Kimmie got sick later that night.

Disney World 2012 Day 2

Thursday, December 13th
Well, what we thought was just car/air sick was actually a stomach bug and David got it next. Our first night there David woke up sick. I have to say, he is a champ when it comes to throwing up, he always made it to the toilet. We slept in since we had a busy first day of traveling. Seth decided to stay at the hotel with David since he wasn't feeling good. Kimmie, Joshua and I went to meet up with everyone at Epcot. Joshua LOVED riding the bus to the parks. He always wanted a seat to himself. I think we could have rode the bus all day and he would have been happy. Aunt Stephanie was leaving this day, so we were trying to get in some fun time with her. We had dinner at Via Napoli, an Italian restaurant. Oma (Kathy) went back to the hotel so Seth could join us for dinner. Kimmie went on Soarin and LOVED it. She went on it two times in a row. She was so excited to go on every ride.

Disney World 2012 Day 1

Time to finally catch up on our blog. In December we went on a trip to Disney World with Seth's family. This was out 3rd trip there since we got married. We went in 2006, 2009 and then 2012. I wasn't a huge Disney freak before, but I have to admit, I am now!!! Everyone else flew out a few days earlier than we did, so they were already enjoying the fun kid free, but I know they were anxious for the kids to get there. After all, they are the real reason we do these trips:)

Wednesday, December 12th

We had frequent flyer points from Southwest, so we were able to use those to fly out there. Our super nice friend, Stephanie, drove us to the airport. On the way there Joshua threw up in the car. We figured he just got car sick since it was a little warm in the car. Luckily I had a change of clothes easily accessible in my carry-on, so we changed him when we got to the airport. He was his happy self again. We said goodbye to Stephanie, who by the way was left to clean up Joshua's gross car seat, THANK YOU!!!

Our flight to Denver was good, the kids behaved and everything was going well...until the landing. Suddenly Joshua threw up all over me. Again, we thought he was just air sick. Luckily we were in the very last row and the flight attendants quickly gave me a bag and paper towels to clean up. Our layover was only about 20 minutes and we weren't changing planes, so no one was allowed off. They were nice enough to let Seth run off to buy me a new shirt to change into. I had clothes for Joshua, but none for me. I told him to buy me the first shirt he saw, as long as it wasn't a Colorado Avalanche shirt:) Our next flight was uneventful. No throwing up, just naps and movies. The kids were so excited just to be at the Orlando Airport. They could have stayed there the whole time. We took the Disney Magical Express over to our resort where we were greeted by all of the family...and lots of bubbles! We got some food at the resort and went back to rest up.

Joshua 18 months old

Man, I can't believe how fast time is flying by. On January 23rd Joshua turned 18 months old. That boy is hilarious! He loves to tease and is so playful. He is not afraid of anything, he loves to jump off the couch and is willing to try anything. People probably think I beat him because he always has some sort of bruise and this week he has a bruise on his cheek from falling into the coffee table and he busted his lip open when he fell at swim lessons. Luckily kids are pretty durable. I love his adventurous spirit, but it does make me wonder how many trips to the ER are in our future. 

Turning 18 months meant he was old enough to start nursery at church. We were so excited because it has been difficult trying to keep him occupied for the last 2 hours of church, but now he gets to go play with toys and have snack while we get to actually listen to the lessons. His first Sunday in nursery we were walking down the hall to take Kimmie & David to their class when Sister McNeil, the nursery teacher, walked by and casually said "Hey Joshua, want to come with me?" and she stuck out her hand. Joshua didn't even hesitate, he grabbed her hand and didn't look back. He stayed in nursery the entire time that day. 

He is such a sweet boy and we are so happy to have him in our family. Between wrestling with his big brother and reading with his sister, he keeps our days very exciting.

Height: 32.5 inches (50th percentile)

Weight: 25 lbs 6.5 oz (70th percentile)

Head Circumference: 19.5 inches (90th percentile)

He is physically advanced for his age, but a little behind verbally. That boy does not want to talk:) So, starting next month a speech therapist will becoming to our house once a month to help us work with him to develop his verbal communication. The hard part will be getting all the adults around him to let him talk, this kid gets whatever he wants with one little smile!
